Death At A Funeral

Aaron's father's funeral is today at the family home, and everything goes wrong: the funeral home delivers the wrong body; a cousin gives her fiancé? a Valium from her brother's apartment, not knowing her brother is dealing drugs - it's LSD and the fiancé? arrives at the funeral wildly stoned; Aaron's younger brother, Ryan, a successful writer, flies in from New York broke but arrogant; one uncle is angry over his daughter's choice of boyfriends, and the other is cranky and coarse. Add an ovulating wife, a jealous ex-boyfriend, and a short stranger who wants a word with Aaron - what could he want? Would another death solve Aaron's problems? And what about the eulogy?

Aaron's father unexpectedly passes away, and he is called upon to inform his entire extended family to attend the funeral. After the funeral home delivers the wrong body, things appear to calm down. Relatives and friends pour in - including a grouchy wheel-chair bound uncle; Aaron's New York-based selfish brother - an unsuccessful writer; drug-impaired cousins; and a petite stranger who no one seems to know - who has an agenda of his own.

Social


     In this film, we can see that there are no racism between black people and white people. For example, we can see that, a dwarf named Frank, which white people, who reveals him to be the secret lover of his deceased Aaron’s father. For other example, Elaine has relationship with Oscar.

     We also can see that the strong  bond  in the family which in the funeral each people in the family helping each other to make the process of the funeral ceremony  is successful .for example Aaron and Ryan stop Frank from expose the photo between  him and  Aaron’s father in the funeral.

    Besides that, we also can see that relation between father and his daughter which Elaine‘s father care about Elaine‘s future with Oscar. Elaine’s father also respects the Elaine decision to keep relationship with Oscar.

     In this film also , show that the bad  effect of drug  when  brother’s Elaine keeping hallucinogen drug in the valium bottle then Elaine though that it is valium and give to Oscar to calm his down. The effect to Oscar is Oscar keep hallucinates in the house which he thinks that the coffin is moving.

    In this film also touch about homosexual problem in the society lives. For example, relationship Aaron’s dad with Frank whom those people is gay. Everyone at the funeral ceremony think badly about his father.

Politic

    In this movie, it show that Aaron as elder son as the leader which make the process of funeral success. Besides that, Aaron support mostly financial at his father’s funeral rather than Ryan spent all it money for two first class ticket than pay on the funeral expenses.

   This film, show that personalities Aaron as leader which he try solve problem which occur at the funeral. For example, he tries to stop Frank with his brother to create problem in the funeral. He also success to calm down the audience at funeral by giving good speech which ask them to respect to his dad although his dad have relationship with Frank .

   This also show that the importance of family structure which them do task as they do. For example Aaron act as leader gives task to it brother to avoid problem and make the funeral ceremony process became smooth. 

Economic

    In this movie Aaron and Michelle have been trying to buy their own home and have children but have been unsuccessful. But Aaron try support the funeral expenses.

   While Ryan is a successful writer, while he has not had his novel published, and resents his brother because he would rather spend money on two first class tickets just for himself from New York to L.A. than help Aaron  pay for the funeral expenses. Those make Aaron angry with Ryan.
